John Dominic Colón

John Colón weaves together various elements to explore the depths of printmaking, photography, and collage. His works encompass a rich tapestry of collagraphy, petrographs, and memory maps. Through his art, Colón delves into the essence of human recollection.Memory maps play a pivotal role in Colón's artistic narrative, functioning as visual guides to the labyrinth of remembrance. These maps offer glimpses into the artist's own recollections. Through the interplay of fragmented imagery and abstract symbolism, Colón encourages us to question the nature of memory and its ability to shape our identities.John Colón lives and works in South Florida and has familial roots in Puerto Rico and Chicago. His work has been exhibited at the Frost Art Museum, the Laundromat Artspace, the Bonnier Gallery as well as VisArts in Maryland. He earned an MFA from Florida International University in 2023.
